"Rumi-Turning Ecstatic"

Turkish Graduate Students Association and Rumi Dialogue Group Student Association are hosting a film screening event at University at Buffalo to celebrate Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi’s 800th birth anniversary.

The film, “Rumi-Turning Ecstatic” tells the story of Canadian filmmaker Tina Petrova who shares her extraordinary encounter with Rumi ( a true story) as she leads the audience on a road trip of discovery across America to the shifting sands of the Middle East - seeking out scholars who animate his works in the world today.

This event is featuring speakers Tina Petrova, the writer, producer, and director of the film and Umit Goker, Interfaith Dialogue Coordinator of Istanbul Center of Atlanta, one of the largest Turkish dialogue organizations in the US.

The event will be held on April 14th at 7pm at University at Buffalo’s Woldman Theatre (Norton Hall Room 112) in North Campus.

Other sponsors are Graduate Student Association, Turkish SA, Music GSA, Buffalo Turkish Center, Comparative Literature GSA and Media Study GSA.

Admission to this event is free.
